Porcupine brings you the best of African design and craft. Our range of products includes home decoration accessories, gift items and practical yet beautiful everyday objects. Most of our products are handmade and rooted in local craft traditions. We also want to show you some of the colourful urban design of Africa.
We import the products directly from African small businesses and crafts producers. By buying from Porcupine, you help sustain the livelihood of craftsmen and small entrepreneurs. At the same time you support a cause that is close to our hearts: part of the income generated by Porcupine goes directly to a school in Dakar in Senegal.

The baobab fruit or monkey bread can be used for making a refreshing drink. When dried, they can be made into rattles. A lovely decoration item!

Who we are
The team behind Porcupine consists of two Finnish jack-of-all-trades currently living in Brussels. We have both been thoroughly bitten by the Africa bug. The promotion of African cultures and African talent and know-how is something we feel strongly for.Outside Porcupine, our experiences of Africa range from tour guide work to literary research, and from Kakum rainforest all the way to the camel trains of Harar. Our wish is to bring you a piece of our Africa on this website.
