wooden frames

Our wooden frames were created by Gérald Moule as a homage to Africa.  The forms and materials of the frames reflect traditional African woodcraft. The aim of the designer has been to produce them in an ethical manner and to use only farmed wood: dark iroko (milicia excelsa, sometimes called “African teak”) and blond fraké (terminalia superba). The bronze details in some of his frames build on traditional jewellery and are made using the traditional “lost wax” technique. The frames are made by the craftsmen Mamady Sidimé, Kouokou and Michel in a small workshop in Lomé.

The frames fit a standard photo or post card of 10 x 15 cm.
