The Niarela Rue 420 home textiles are made in Mariane Montaut's atelier in Bamako, Mali, where eight people are employed.

The dyeing techniques and designs reflect ancient Bogolan dyeing traditions.

For her textiles, Mariane Montaut was awarded the first prize at the West African craft fair SIAO in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in 2006.
